Golden Feather: Barn Harvest

Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 August 2026

Golden Feather: Barn Harvest is a single-player farming game. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising. This policy explains the little data the game does handle, where it goes, and how long it stays there. If something here is unclear, write to us — the address is at the bottom.

The short version. We do not ask for your name, your email or your phone number. We do not sell data, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app. Your photographs never leave your device. Your farm lives on your device, and deleting the app deletes it.

1What we do not collect

2The install handle

When the game first runs it generates a short code — a handle such as A7KF2NQ4V. It is produced by a one-way hash and identifies one installation of the game, not you. It cannot be reversed to a device, it is not shared with other apps, and it is not linked to any identity we hold. If you delete the app and install it again, a new handle is generated and the old one means nothing to us.

3Camera and photo library

The game can read a crop strain from a photograph, and can put a picture on your scarecrow and on your steward's card. Those permissions are requested only when you use those features, and you can decline and keep playing.

Photographs never leave your device. When you scan a frame, the game measures six numbers from it — colour, brightness, texture — and turns them into a plant. Only if you choose to share that plant with other players do those six numbers and a numeric fingerprint reach our server. The image itself is not uploaded, not stored by us and not sent anywhere.

4Your saved farm

Your farm, your progress and your settings are stored on your device. There is no cloud save and no server-side copy of your game. Deleting the app deletes the save, and it cannot be recovered by us or by you.

5What the game sends to our server

The game talks to goldenfeatherfarms.online, which we run. Every feature that uses it has a local answer ready, so the game works fully with no network at all. What is sent:

DataWhenWhy
Install handle, app version, device model, iOS version, screen scale, language and time zone Once when the game starts To answer with the district's weekly challenge and to know which app versions and devices to keep supporting
Steward name, motto, tier and progress figures When you open the district standings To place you on the board and show the stewards around you
A plant's name, family, grade, six measurements and its code Only when you choose to share a plant So another player can raise the same line from its code
A finished season's totals and region When a season ends To tell you how the season compared with other stewards

Requests are sent over HTTPS. Nothing above is required to play, and a failed request is simply answered locally.

6Names and mottoes are public

The steward name and motto you write are shown to other players on the district standings. Please do not put personal information into them. We filter them on arrival and may hide a name or motto that is abusive or that exposes someone's private details.

7How long we keep things

8Who else sees it

We do not sell or rent data, and we do not share it for advertising. The only third party involved is the hosting provider that runs the server on our behalf, under contract and only to keep the service running. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

9Children

The game is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we hold no accounts, the only player-authored text that ever reaches us is a name and a motto, which are filtered on arrival.

10Your choices and your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Use the address below and we will help. Because we hold no identity, the install handle is the only key we have to your records.

11Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the current version is always published at this address.
